The Set Up
The fly fishing outfit is a great display for anglers, the tool they use to fool fish and show of to their buddies. It’s ironic that in a multi-billion dollar industry anglers are unique in their outfits. Sure there are a few hundred guys out on the stream with a 9ft 5wt Z-axis paired with a Lamson spooled with RIO Gold, but to each angler their outfit is personal. They hold it in their hand and connect into another level of life. Knowing the modern angler they have several outfits for each situation but there is always the one that means the most.
My favorite outfit is the one that sees the most use, the down and dirty trout rod and bomb proof reel. Elitist? no, just lucky.

Jam of the Day: March 27, 2012
Back to work today after an 8 day recovery from surgery. It was boring and I’m ready to do some work. Although as I start feeling stronger there is an appeal to be unemployed. Or at least make just enough money to live near a trout stream and have enough time to fish it. Not sure why this song came to mind on my commute to work, but here it is
