A lot of my time is spent thinking, looking, reading, and doing fly fishing related stuff. In the last several years there has been a surge of filmmaking done in the fly fishing world. Exotic destinations include Cuba, Kamchatka, Mongolia, Slovenia, Patagonia and elsewhere around the globe. But there are also a ton of great video coming from the trout streams of North America, yet they seem to be focused on the American West. The market has become saturated with video media, making it increasingly difficult to break out as a filmmaker. I really have no chance at this time of producing a popular film, but that’s no stopping me from trying. So I went out and purchased a GoPro Hero 2 last night.
The upcoming weekend has plans of three full days of fishing in North-Central PA. I plan to get a good amount of footage even with the crap weather forecast. If nothing else I’m happy to be trying something new.
Stay tuned for the first “beer trout productions” film!
